PrayerNotePrivacy Policy
PrayerNote is a prayer and Bible study app. This policy explains what we collect, what we send to third parties, and what never leaves your phone. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
Your journal entries, your private prayer requests, and anything shared inside a circle are stored on your device and are not sent to any AI service. What you type into a prayer or Bible question box is sent to a third-party AI provider so it can write a response. Your conversations are never used to train AI models.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, when you create an account.
- Your faith level and prayer goals, if you set them during onboarding.
- The prayers, requests, notes and answers you create in the app.
- Basic technical information such as device type and app version, used to diagnose problems.
- Purchase status, if you subscribe to Ambassador.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, or your browsing activity outside the app.
What is sent to an AI service
To generate a prayer or answer a question about Scripture, we send the following to a third-party AI provider:
- The text you typed into the prayer or question box.
- Your faith level and goals, so the response is written for where you are.
That is all. The provider processes the request and returns a response. Your conversations are not used to train their models, and we do not sell or share this content with anyone else.
What is never sent to an AI service
- Your journal entries.
- Prayer requests you keep private.
- Anything posted inside a circle.
Circles and sharing
A circle is a private group you create or join. Anything you post to a circle is visible to the members of that circle. If you post anonymously, your name is hidden from other members, though the content is still visible to them.
If you share a prayer or answer using a link, anyone who opens that link can read it. Only share links with people you intend to see the content.
Third parties we use
- An AI provider, to generate prayers and Bible answers, as described above.
- RevenueCat, to manage subscriptions.
- Branch, to make shared links open in the right place.
- Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them, and for processing payments.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing the data it receives.
How long we keep things
We keep your account and its contents for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your prayers, journal, saved answers and circles you created are permanently removed. This cannot be undone.
If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google and must be cancelled through the App Store or Play Store.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete any prayer, request, note or answer at any time.
- You can leave a circle at any time.
- You can turn notifications off in Settings, or in your phone's settings.
- You can delete your account from Profile, which removes your data permanently.
Children
PrayerNote is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
